Distance and route Disneyland Paris → Louvre

The distance is approximately 42 km via the A4 motorway (Porte de Bercy exit), then the Quai de Bercy and the riverbank tracks to the Louvre Pyramid. During off-peak hours (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), allow 45 minutes; during rush hour (8 a.m.-9 a.m. or 5 p.m.-7 p.m.), plan on 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. Approximately 120 € at the taximeter.

Why take a taxi rather than the RER A + metro?

The journey by public transport (RER A to Châtelet-Les Halles then 5 min on foot) costs around €10 per person, but takes 1h05 to 1h15 door to door with changes and stairs — exhausting for families with strollers or luggage. The taxi is more profitable 3 passengers, and unbeatable for 4 to 7 people (Mercedes van at the same price).

Where can the taxi drop you off at the Louvre?

Several options depending on your preferred entry queue:

• Louvre Pyramid (Cour Napoléon): main entrance, long line, ideal for visitors with time-stamped tickets
• Richelieu Passage (rue de Rivoli): priority entry for Amis du Louvre and Paris Museum Pass — much shorter line
• Louvre Carousel (99 rue de Rivoli): underground entrance via the shopping mall, ideal in case of rain
• Lions Gate (quai François-Mitterrand): lesser-known entrance, perfect outside weekends

For visitors with a skip-the-line ticket, we recommend the Richelieu Passage — time savings often greater than 30 minutes in high season.

Preferred times and slots

The Louvre is closed Tuesday. Open Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesdays and Fridays late-night until 9:45 p.m. THE Wednesday and Friday nights are the connoisseurs' tip: crowd divided by 3 from 6 p.m., subdued lighting, unique atmosphere.

How long should you allow for the visit?

For the essential masterpieces (Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Victory of Samothrace, Liberty Leading the People), 2h to 2h30 are enough. Is parking an option?

The Carrousel du Louvre car park is accessible but costs €9 per hour (€54 for 6 hours), which is more expensive than a round trip by taxi for 4 people. The stress of Parisian traffic and the risk of fines (low emissions zone, Crit'Air 1 and 2 mandatory since 2025) make the taxi significantly more practical.

The Louvre is very central, it can be combined with:

💡 Driver advice

To avoid traffic jams on the banks at the end of the afternoon, ask your driver to take the Porte de Bercy exit then Boulevard de Bercy → Boulevard de l'Hôpital → quai Saint-Bernard. This detour adds 3 km but can save 25 minutes during rush hour on Friday.
