Traveling with children in a taxi requires a suitable car seat. But what are the exact French regulations? Which seats are required depending on age and weight? And above all, who should provide the seat: the client or the private driver? Answers here.
French law on child seats in taxis
The article R412-2 of the Highway Code requires an approved restraint system for any child under 10 years old. An exception exists for taxis in urban areas over short distances, but it does not apply to airport → Disneyland Paris journeys (38 to 100 km of motorway). The child seat is therefore essential, both for legality and security.
Our 3 categories of seats, all free
- Baby carrier group 0+ (0 to 13 kg / 0 to 12 months approximately): Maxi-Cosi model with Isofix base. Rear-facing position, maximum safety for infants
- Group 1 child seat (9 to 18 kg / approximately 9 months to 4 years): 5-point harness, reclining backrest, Isofix attachment. Ideal for toddlers
- Booster group 2-3 (15 to 36 kg / 4 to 10 years approximately): with backrest, adult belt adapted to the size. Comfortable and secure
All our seats are ECE R44/04 or i-Size R129 approved, checked regularly and cleaned between each race. Brands: Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Britax-Römer.
Regulation by age and size
- 0 to 13 kg (approx. 0-12 months): rear-facing shell required
- 9 to 18 kg (approx. 9 months-4 years): 5-point harness seat, rear or forward facing depending on model
- 15 to 36 kg (approx. 4-10 years): booster seat with mandatory backrest up to 1m35 or 10 years
- + 1m35 or 10 years : standard adult belt, but the child must be in the back
How to reserve your child seat?
When booking, communicate for each child:
- Age and approximate weight (weight is more accurate than age)
- Size if you have it (useful for booster)
- Preference : rearward facing or forward facing if age permits
Example of WhatsApp message: "Hello, transfer CDG T2E → Disneyland Hotel on 05/15, 2 adults + 1 child 18 months (12 kg) + 1 child 6 years (22 kg). Please provide 1 group 1 seat and 1 booster."
Why is our child seat offered?
We consider child safety not a paid option. The child seat is included for free in all our transfers to Disneyland Paris, unlike some competitors who charge €5 to €15 per seat. No number limit: 3 children = 3 seats free of charge.
What if we bring our own seat?
You are free to bring your own seat (reassuring if the child already has his bearings). Our driver can then:
- Help you install it following your instructions
- Transport it in the hold on the way back if you want to get it back
- Keep it in the trunk for a return trip if you leave with us
The contribution of a personal seat does not entitle you to any reduction (the cost of purchasing seats is negligible compared to the cost of the ride).
Special cases: twins, siblings
For young twins or triplets:
- Our classic sedan (4 passenger seats) accommodates 2 Isofix child seats simultaneous at the rear
- For 3 young children or more, we systematically switch to Mercedes V-Class van 7 seats (capacity for 3 child seats in the rear) — at the same price as the sedan
- For 4+ young children, two vehicles in convoy are organized (rare case)
Tips for traveling with baby
- Exit baggage area with stroller : the foldable cabin stroller is returned to the plane gangway, practical
- Hydration : bring a bottle of water and biscuits for the 50-90 minute journey
- Baby tired after long-haul flight : warn your driver, he will take the quieter motorway (A104) rather than urban roads
- Regurgitation : changing bag within reach, wipes and diapers accessible
- Motion sickness : postpone the meal 30 minutes before departure
Child seats at Disneyland Paris (on site)
Disneyland Paris attractions have their own minimum height rules:
- Babies (0-3 years) : Small World, Lancelot's Carousel, Casey Jr., character walks, Frozen Ever After (with an adult)
- Little ones (3-6 years old) : Peter Pan, Dumbo, Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Rapunzel Tangled Spin (unrestricted since 2026)
- Height 1m02 : Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain
- Height 1m20+ : Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Indiana Jones, Crush's Coaster
💡 Driver advice
When returning to CDG/Orly with exhausted children, leave 30 minutes earlier than strictly necessary — plane trips with sleeping children always take longer than expected. Our driver waits calmly, flight tracking is free.
